upside-down sketching
fahey freighter by Miloes
I just found this recording that I did several months ago - it was a practice run for a larger piece that I was planning, done in my living room on a right-handed guitar (I'm left-handed).
I never released the final version (and I mostly forgot about it until now), but I may try to finish it up in the next few weeks to post it here.
The picture is upside down Antonin Artaud - I remember a collection of his writing sitting on the coffee table as I was recording the song.
And judging by the style, I was probably listening to some John Fahey at the time

i sings about dreams and i rhyme it with seems 'cause it seems that my dreams always mean that i can prophesy all sorts of things
Hello there. I'm miloes. Remember me? Sorry I've been away for so long, but I've been busy with a few recording projects. There was also a show in there somewhere - which was a little weird since this music wasn't really conceived to be played live. But it went fine - nothing caught on fire and no serious injuries were reported.
There's a sample of one of the projects I'm working on below. The idea is to record a 60 minute seamless loop of music to release on cassette at some point in the future - probably next month - and probably on a limited run of about 20 tapes. It was inspired by a dream that involved an underground stairwell, an atomic bomb and a radioactive singalong. The clip below is the first section to be completed - the working title is Smokywhitecloud Jumps the Crater. Stay tuned - I'll stream the whole tape before I release the physical copies. There's also a rumor of more tapes from more artists coming soon - a sort of unofficial tape label - but that's a different story all together.

In other news, the Feelies released a new song today - the first one in quite a long time - listen to it here - you can't see it, but I'm dancing around by myself right now - air guitar and leg kicks may or may not be involved - here's hoping that they come through my town
